This is the very best place for you to start getting ready for the exam and follow a process of understanding what skills are lacking on your study.

I have been using dbt for more than a year in my company. I thought the exam would not be that difficult, so I studied for 2 weeks then I went for the initial attempt, unfortunately I failed. I tried to look for more materials before the 2nd attempt, and I found out this qanalabs practice exams. I went through all the questions. I took 2 weeks to finish all of them, then I went taking the dbt exam again, and I passed!!!

I thought that the practice questions and provided explanations are spectacular although there are some questions that needs to be reviewed as the correct answer and provided explanation are sometimes different. Otherwise, this is a great hidden resource to use for the dbt developer exam.

The font size of the choose the Best answer and the Choose All test is smaller than the questions and answers themselves. The amount of time I looked over it and missed it when answering was too many to count. The later tests follow a pattern of how they are structured. I unknowingly memorized the patterns and knew some of the answers without learning anything. Test 13 is in draft but has a lot of issues at this moment.

This list of practice questions is not perfect, I am not sure that all the questions are correct and they are not exactly the same ones as in the certification exam. The level is also easier than the certification exam (I estimate you should get 75-80% in these questions to get the 65% in the exam). But having said that, this is an extremely useful resource. You could review every part of the dbt corpus many times, and practice in the difficult art to avoid wrong answers in tricky questions. Unfortunately I was in a rush and I did not provide feedback to improve the questions that I found confusing or incorrect, but you should do it (remember to specify the number of the question, if you comment). Kudos to Muizz for his good work.

Very useful content with great questions!

These practise tests cover a broad range of topics on the dbt exam, which is great for identifying which topics you need to revise. However, the questions and answers seem to have been created using GenAI and have not been reviewed for correctness, which is disappointing. The questions are all multiple choice, and some of the questions have no correct option or have an incorrect justification for the answer. I would suggest referring directly to the dbt documentation rather than the misleading and often wrong explanations provided in these tests. The (likely unintentional) benefit is that this helps you become much more familiar with the dbt documentation.

Thanks for having compiled lots of questions with exhaustive Q&A, and complete answer with rationale behind each answer. It was very precious for preparing the certification.

This is a lovely resource, and the moderator is kind enough to promptly respond to feedback on some issues I had with a couple of questions. The Python and metrics portions do prove to be great added knowledge too! I am grateful to have this resource!

1. for a given question, 2 options would be very similar 2. The correct answer is based on the answer order rather than the actual answer. Because of this, though I have answered a question correctly, but since its not in the right order, it shows in correct. The options are being shuffled, while the end result still chooses the order of the options

Some questions have the wrong answer and it sounds like new answer was quickly added or in a different order and the explanation does not match anymore. For example some explanations talk about 4 propositions whereas there are now 5 (with the exact same command) or some propositions say "all the propositions above" whereas it's answer A and "good answer" was E (which was indeed not the good one) probably due to a change in the order of responses
